The sunset alone was beautiful but I was sitting at a funny angle, looking out of the window and I noticed the strong silhouette of another 'model' on my window ledge, against the sunset. I played around with a few other models, but I thought this was the best.
The model choice was slightly inspired by a film I recently watched called 'Gone with the Wind'. Which I know is a total classic, but I only watched it recently. I tried to recreate the same sort of atmosphere as that film with this photo.
This is very very cool. I'd consider shopping out the two orange dots.

i tottaly agree with you. i thought exactly this before i uplaoded.
grain, inevitable for low light, and low lense size (which my camera is)
too close, definetly, but out of the couple of photos i took of this subject, this one came out the best so i kinda had to choose this one. the others i toko were further away.
i chose to add a frame because it was cramped. i was trying to avoid the feeling that it was that way!
i thought exactly this also! both u and virg think exactly like me! its weird. i thought i wud check ur responses on what u guys thought about it before i made any edits. at the moment tho, the image has only got increased contrast, aside from that, there is no photoshopping going on, which i kind of wanna keep tha way. but thanks for the comment tho, cos i was thinking the same thing.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

looks like you could benefit from a higher res/quality camera - its quite noisy.
i feel the subject is too close. i want more surrounding it.
do avoid manually framing your photos! look at the biggest faves on all of dA - do they have manual framing? if the photo is good, it doesnt need it.
good use of the rule of thirds in this pic. but yeh - a little cramped.
